Nick Perry has made his presence felt in the opening two contests, something the Packers will desperately need from him on Sunday.

With three tackles, three assists and 1.5 sacks, Nick Perry is showing the type of talent the Packers were expecting from him. With a number of players affected by injury, he needs to stay at a high level.

Mostly due to injuries himself, Perry hasn’t done much in his career. When healthy, however, he has shown bursts of skill that can swing a game.

Focused, healthy and playing on a one-year, $5 million contract, Perry is determined to prove how good he really is.

If you haven’t really noticed Perry yet this season, Sunday’s game could be that official announcement to the NFL.

In the two playoffs games last season, Perry took his game to another level. He recorded eight tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble. So far in 2016, that type of play has continued.

More than ever, Green Bay needs a spark and someone to lead the way in Week 3.

Expect Perry to be asked to carry more of the burden with Matthews’ impact depleted.

If you haven’t really noticed Perry yet this season, Sunday’s game could be that official announcement to the NFL. Even if he doesn’t rack up the stats, watch for how he dictates the action.

I’m going out on a limb to predict another 1.5 sacks for Perry in this one. One of those will also strip Stafford of the pigskin to help kick start the offense.
