Week 3 finally brings the Green Bay Packers home as they host the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.

Both teams are off to 1-1 starts as the Green Bay Packers come off a disappointing road loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions lost 16-15 at home at the hands of the Tennessee Titans, so neither team is feeling great about themselves.

Most of the talk around the Packers this week centers on the sub-par play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Not only his struggles in Minnesota, but the consistent mediocre-at-best performances the last 14 games.

Coach Mike McCarthy has also professed a need to give Eddie Lacy more opportunities to run the ball on Sunday. Lacy has just 26 carries for 111 yards over the first two contests.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Packers have done an amazing job against the run.

They’ve allowed 118 rushing yards and 1.63 yards per carry, a franchise record for the opening two games of a season (dating back to 1950).

Now they face a Lions team that lost they’re starting running back, Ameer Abdullah, so signs point to continued success against the run.

Defending the pass might be more of an issue, especially as Sam Shields continues to sit due to a concussion.

Damarious Randall had a rough night trying to handle Stefon Diggs last week, and the rest of the secondary couldn’t cover for him.

Although Green Bay only gave up 17 points in the contest, it felt like they were getting beat handily at times against the Vikings.

So let’s go ahead and breakdown the Packers’ first meeting with the Lions this year and get back on track with the predictions.
