Adam Lind has been effective in his first season in Milwaukee, hitting .289/.362/.490 in 60 games, with nine homers and 33 RBI.

He’s hitting .301/.377/.517 against right handers, while he is 6-for-28 (.214) against lefties. For a contender looking for left-handed pop, Lind, 31, could be an option.

Acquired from Toronto last winter, he’s got one year left on his deal, which pays him $7.5 million this season, with an $8 million team option for next year. That’s the end of a four-year deal that included three option years that he signed in April 2010.

Lind could be an especially attractive option for an American League, where his balky back could handle designated hitter duties, since playing outfield is no longer a real viable option for Lind.
