Aramis Ramirez told everyone this spring that 2015 was his swan song. He will be 37 on June 25 and is having the worst offensive season of his career so far, hitting .218/.258/.397 in 52 games, with seven homers and 24 RBI.
And despite his three-double, five-RBI outburst on Friday night against the Washington Nationals, Ramirez is hitting just .190 in 12 June appearances, with a homer and eight RBI total.
The potential issue with Ramirez is that he’s on the last year of his contract at $14 million, meaning Milwaukee might have to eat some cash to move him.
But a team looking to add a veteran bat for a stretch run might be inclined to take a flyer on Ramirez, if the price was right.
