Nick Perry, OLB

The Packers declined to pick up Nick Perry’s option this offseason and who can blame them? Perry’s career has been up and down so far, but when Perry is on his game he can be a solid player and contributor for the Packers. The hit on Perry has been his injury issues and he also sat out this week’s OTAs.

Last season was Perry’s best in terms of staying on the field as he played in 15 regular season games. But if Perry wants to stay with the Packers and get a nice pay day next offseason, he needs to improve his play on the field. In his first three seasons, he has only racked up nine sacks, a stat the Packers would no doubt like to see increased.

With Julius Peppers‘ career coming close to an end and fellow outside linebacker Mike Neal possibly heading for free agency next year, Perry has a chance to show he still belongs as a fixture on the Packers defense. But, he needs to have a solid offseason this year and in turn, make it a solid 2015 campaign if he wants to continue his career as a Packer.
