Friday, Nov. 21: Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors

Friday’s game between the Bucks and Raptors was hard to watch.  Like Yoko Ono singing Katy Perry’s “Fireworks” hard.  At times, I would have preferred to watch Yoko.

Toronto whopped Milwaukee, winning 124-82.

Milwaukee found itself in a large hole early in the first quarter, fought back to be down 10 at the end of the first, then the rest is just a blur of Milwaukee getting dominated.

There isn’t much to say about this game other than the fact that Toronto looked sharp and executed well early in the game, then didn’t let up for the rest of the game.

Leading Milwaukee in scoring was Jabari Parker, scoring 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting and adding six boards.

Milwaukee lost in every significant category Friday night, including being out-rebounded 57-30.  Fifteen of those 57 rebounds from Toronto were offensive, as well.

Brook Lopez was able to dominate in the paint against Milwaukee Wednesday night despite the Bucks win, and the same could be said about Toronto’s big man, Jonas Valanciunas.  Jonas ended the game with 18 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.  He came out of the gates ready, totaling 12 points and five boards in the first period to set the tone.

Milwaukee came out sluggish, but coach Jason Kidd didn’t blame it on rest. (via ESPN.com):

"“We didn’t do anything but travel yesterday, so I don’t think that was an issue.” – Coach Kidd"

What made the performance more disappointing was what Milwaukee did in their last game.  You’d think Milwaukee would still be buzzing from that emotional win against the Nets, but they just came out sluggish, and got punished for it.

The loss dropped Milwaukee to 7-6, and they welcomed the Washington Wizards to the BMO Harris Bradley Center Saturday night.
