Player of the Week:  Giannis Antetokounmpo

If this week showed us anything, it’s that the future IS here.  This week showed Bucks fans that this team can compete at a top level.  It showed us that the team is learning how to close out games.  And most importantly, this week showed us that we DO have something to be excited about for the foreseeable future.

Now you can look at the stat lines, and even look at the game winning lay up and argue that Brandon Knight was the Bucks best player this week, and I could not really argue that.

However, I want to take the first Player of the Week award in the direction of development, because that’s what this team is really about at this point.

After Giannis’ 17-minute performance Tuesday night in Indiana, he showed Bucks fans that he has the ability to play starting minutes, as well as the ability to take over a game himself.  That’s why Giannis is my player of the week.

Milwaukee’s upcoming week consists of a Tuesday night game at home against the undermanned Oklahoma City Thunder, a Friday night game in Orlando, and then close out the week Sunday evening in Miami.
