Saturday, Nov. 8:  Memphis Grizzlies at Milwaukee Bucks

This was without a doubt the game of the week for the Bucks.

Milwaukee welcomed the 6-0 Memphis Grizzlies to the Bradley Center Saturday night.

The Bucks took a big step forward in terms of team development when they beat the Grizzlies 93-92 thanks to a Brandon Knight and-1 layup with 1.1 seconds left.  Knight sunk the free throw to seal the win for Milwaukee.

While Knight had the game winning lay-up, it was the Giannis Antetokounmpo show Saturday night.  Giannis lead the team in both minutes and points, totaling 30 and 18 respectively.  More importantly, Giannis started to take the game over himself in the fourth quarter.

Before Knight’s game winning lay-up, Giannis scored the last eight of the Bucks 11 points.  I don’t know if this was intended by Kidd, or Giannis just told everyone to get out of his way, but there was a point late in the fourth quarter where Giannis scored six straight points by driving to the basket.

His aggression was up, his confidence seemed to grow, and Jason Kidd allowed The Freak to show Bucks fans what he’s capable of doing late in games.

It was a refreshing sight seeing the Bradley Center light up and get genuinely excited over a Bucks win.  It was refreshing to see the Bucks win a relatively meaningful game, beating one of only three unbeaten teams at the time in Memphis.

I was at a local bar in my hometown of Sussex watching with an old friend , and it was refreshing to see everyone pay attention not to the big Saturday night football game, but the last four minutes of a Milwaukee Bucks game.
