Bogdan Bogdanovic, SG, Serbia
Bogdanovic, who will be 22 in August, is a 6-foot-6, 200-pound shooting guard who plays with Partizan in the Adriatic League and the Euroleague.
He averaged 14.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.6 steals in 31.4 minutes per game, shooting .401/.370/.754 in Euroleague play.
With an impressive wingspan of a shade more than 6-foot-11, Bogdanovic took on more ball-handling responsibilities after his club’s point guard, Leo Westermann, was hurt, and put together a breakout season.
But he’s got a good understanding of the game and can play either guard spot, with the ability to score, set up teammates and scoring off the catch-and-shoot.
He doesn’t have elite speed, but has great positioning and anticipation and his combination of long arms and quick hands leads to a lot of steals.
But he’s not an elite athlete and could have trouble beating NBA defenders off the dribble and also could be a defensive liability.
Bogdanovic also may not be available, as at least one of the mock drafts I studied had him going at the end of Round 1.
Projected to come off the board: No. 30-43.
