Third Round

No. 85 overall: Adrian Hubbard, OLB, Alabama
Hubbard had 31 tackles and three sacks last season for the Crimson Tide and is tall and rangy at 6-foot-6 and 257 pounds.

His diagnostic skills are still developing, but he’s gotten much quicker at finding the ball and he is also very disciplined at setting the edge on his side of the defense. He didn’t get a lot of opportunities in pass coverage in college, but has shown good instincts in zone coverage.

He is also adept at taking on blocks, with long arms and deceptive upper-body strength. Noted for being able to disengage blockers quickly after locating the ball, but has a tendency to play with his pads too high. Hubbard could be excellent at taking on blocks if his leverage and lower-body strength continue to improve.

Scouts dinged Hubbard, however, for his tackling—he falls off too many tackles and needs to get better with angles and getting into better position. He pursues well, but can get caught slowing down before contact.
