Wisconsin Badgers Picked At 9/2 To Win Big Ten Title By Bovada

The online sports book Bovada.lv has listed the Wisconsin Badgers with 9/2 odds to win the Big Ten Championship in futures betting released this week.

Ohio State is the odds-on favorite to win the conference title, according to Bovada, coming off at 10/11.

The Badgers are the team in the West Division with the best odds to win the conference, but are still behind Michigan State’s 15/4 odds.

The odds to win the Big Ten title are:

  • Ohio State 10/11
  • Michigan State 15/4
  • Wisconsin 9/2
  • Nebraska 11/2
  • Michigan 9/1
  • Iowa 14/1
  • Northwestern 40/1
  • Minnesota 66/1
  • Indiana 100/1
  • Maryland 100/1
  • Illinois 200/1
  • Rutgers 200/1
  • Purdue 300/1

Somewhere in West Lafayette, Ind., there is a Boilermakers fan thinking, “So you’re sayin’ there’s a chance!” Purdue’s odds are the worst of any Power 5 conference member in the nation, coming off a 1-11 campaign in 2013.

Wisconsin last won the Big Ten title in 2012, when they thumped Nebraska in the Big Ten Championship Game 70-31.

Here is each conference member’s most recent conference title (shared denoted by asterisk):

  • Michigan State—2013
  • Wisconsin—2012
  • Ohio State—2009
  • Iowa—2004*
  • Michigan—2004*
  • Illinois—2001
  • Northwestern—2000*
  • Purdue—2000*
  • Penn State—1994
  • Indiana—1967*
  • Minnesota—1967*

It should be noted that Ohio State’s Big Ten title in 2010 was later vacated, as were Penn State’s conference crowns in 2005 and 2008.

Nebraska has not won a Big Ten title in its three seasons in the league. Maryland and Rutgers are new members of the conference for 2014.
