Green Bay Packers Sign Final 2 Draft Picks; All Rookies Signed

The Green Bay Packers signed their final two draft picks for 2014 and now have all nine of their picks under contract.

On Thursday, the Packers signed second-round pick Davante Adams, a wide receiver out of Fresno State, and third-round selection, California tight end Richard Rodgers.

Adams had 131 receptions last season for Fresno State—tops in the Football Bowl Subdivision—and is renowned for his hands.

Rodgers is the son of Carolina Panthers special teams coach Richard Rodgers Sr., and caught 39 passes for the Golden Bears last season.

Both players have been with the team throughout OTAs.

Rodgers made an impression on another Rodgers—as in quarterback Aaron Rodgers—during workouts this week.

“It’s helmets and shorts, but you’ve got to be excited about his body type and the hands,” the quarterback said. “He’s made some incredible catches. He makes it look easy.”

Adams has a shot to push incumbent Jarrett Boykin for playing time as the Packers’ third wide receiver, while Rodgers is battling with Andrew Quarless and Brandon Bostick at tight end.
