Jordy Nelson of the Green Bay Packers gave everyone a first-person view of a home run he hit at his own charity softball event in Grand Chute Sunday.
He also told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he doesn’t want to go anywhere.
“My wife and I have enjoyed it,” Nelson said. “It’s six years going on seven years now. We don’t want to go anywhere else. We love it here. We want to be here.
“Hopefully, we can get to that point.”
Nelson, 29, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2014 season and he helped the offense beat the defense in the softball event 26-11, belting a pair of home runs.
Here’s the Go-Pro camera view of one of the dingers:
Nelson posted career highs of 85 catches and 1,314 yards last season for the Packers and has 302 receptions for 4,590 yards and 36 touchdowns in six seasons in Green Bay.
He’s not the only wide receiver scheduled for free agency next year; Randall Cobb’s contract is also up at the end of the 2014 season.
Nelson also had eight touchdown receptions last season and had the third-most touchdown receptions in a single season in Packer history in 2011 when he snagged 15 scores. Sterling Sharpe, with 18 in 1994, and Hall of Famer Don Hutson, with 17 in 1942, are the only higher scoring seasons recorded by a Green Bay receiver.
