The network polled players from around the league and is unveiling the list in reverse order, with 10 players revealed each week.

Lacy, last season’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, was No. 90 on the countdown. Nelson checked in at No. 83.

Lacy was a second-round pick last year out of Alabama and in 15 games, rushed for 1,178 yards on 284 carries with 11 touchdowns and had 35 receptions for 257 yards. He earned a Pro Bowl nod for his efforts, as well.

Analyst Michael Silver said there are only a handful of running backs he would take ahead of Lacy, listing Adrian Peterson of the Vikings, Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch, Jamaal Charles of Kansas City and the Eagles’ LeSean McCoy.

Nelson was one of the only Packer receivers to make it through last season healthy, setting career highs with 85 receptions and 1,314 yards. Nelson, a second-round pick out of Kansas State in 2008, also ran back 22 kickoffs for a 22.5 yard average.

Ike Taylor of the Pittsburgh Steelers offered some … interesting … comments about Nelson’s inclusion on the list.

“We call Jordy ‘White Chocolate,’” Taylor said. “He’s smooth. Very country. If you didn’t know Jordy, hadn’t seen him, you’d think he was black. Just a cool, down to earth, soulful guy. He is just so happy. He makes a lot of plays. A lot of plays.”

But Taylor got serious, offering Nelson some high praise, indeed.

“You can tell he has that Calvin Johnson mentality,” Taylor said. “That team mentality.”

Last year, the Packers had only two players on the list, so that number will presumably increase this season. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was No. 6 and linebacker Clay Matthews was No. 31.

Players 71-80 will be unveiled on May 21.
